ROLLEI ROLLEICORD IV

  • 6 photos

The Rolleicord IV is a medium format twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera produced by Franke & Heidecke (later Rollei-Werke) in Braunschweig, Germany, from 1953 to 1954, with about 46,500 units manufactured. It uses 120 roll film, capturing 12 square 6x6 cm images per roll, and was also compatible with the optional Rolleikin 1 adapter for 35mm film and a plate adapter for single glass plate or sheet film exposures. The camera features a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 75mm f/3.5 taking lens and a Heidoscop-Anastigmat 75mm f/3.2 viewing lens, both equipped with a Bayonet Size 1 mount for accessories. The Synchro-Compur MXV shutter allows speeds from 1 second to 1/500 second, plus Bulb mode, and provides X and M flash synchronization. Major upgrades from the previous Rolleicord III model include the addition of a flash synchronization (M-X) switch, double exposure prevention (which can be disengaged), and an automatic reset of the exposure prevention mechanism after each shot. The Rolleicord IV is noted for its durable build and adaptability through its range of film and accessory options.
