The Contax T is a high-quality, compact 35mm rangefinder camera introduced in 1984 and manufactured by Kyocera in Japan. It features a manually focused Carl Zeiss Sonnar 38mm f/2.8 lens that retracts into the camera body and is covered by a hinged lens cover. The camera utilizes an electronic between-the-lens shutter with speeds from 8 seconds to 1/500th, automatically set by its aperture priority exposure system. Designed by F.A. Porsche, the body incorporates titanium, and it features a synthetic ruby shutter release. It came with a dedicated Contax T14 electronic flash unit that attaches to the side. Film advance is manual, and it has an electronic frame counter with an LCD display. The Contax T has gained a cult status and was available in silver or black.
