The Contax 139 Quartz is a 35mm SLR film camera manufactured by Yashica/Kyocera under the Contax brand, first released in 1979. It features a quartz-timed electronically controlled vertical-travel metal focal plane shutter with speeds from 11 seconds to 1/1000 second plus Bulb. The camera uses the Contax/Yashica bayonet lens mount, supporting a wide range of Carl Zeiss T* lenses. It offers aperture-priority automatic exposure as well as full manual control, with through-the-lens (TTL) center-weighted metering. Notable features include a compact and lightweight body, electronic self-timer, and a viewfinder with LED exposure information. The Contax 139 Quartz is powered by two SR44 or LR44 batteries and includes a hot shoe for flash use.
