The Contax G1 is a 35mm autofocus rangefinder camera that was introduced by Contax in 1994. It is part of the Contax G system, which was designed to compete with Leica's M series. The G1 features a unique electronic autofocus system that uses infrared sensors to measure the distance between the camera and the subject. It has a built-in motor drive for advancing the film and a motorized rewind function. The camera has a titanium body, which makes it lightweight and durable. The G1 has a wide range of compatible lenses, including a 28mm, 35mm, 45mm, 90mm, and a zoom lens. It also has a built-in flash and a hot shoe for external flash units. The G1 offers a variety of exposure modes, including aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual. It has a bright and clear viewfinder, and the rangefinder focusing system allows for precise focusing. The G1 is a highly regarded camera among film enthusiasts and is known for its exceptional image quality and reliable performance.
