MINOLTA XE-5

  • 5 photos

The Minolta XE-5 is a 35mm SLR camera introduced in 1975, positioned as a less advanced sibling to the Minolta XE series, and was not sold in the Japanese home market. It features a fixed finder, a vertical-running metal blade shutter, and a bright viewfinder with an exposure meter scale for both manual and automatic operation. The camera offers meter-assisted manual or aperture-priority automatic exposure settings. Its electronically controlled shutter provides speeds from 4 seconds to 1/1000 second, with a mechanical backup speed of 1/90 second and Bulb. Standard features include a hot-shoe, a self-timer, and a PC X sync contact. The XE-5 operates on a 3V silver battery or two 1.5V SR44 batteries, and it typically comes with an MC Rokkor-X PF 1:1.7 f=50mm lens. The camera's prism housing is entirely black, distinguishing it from other models in the series.
