The Minolta Dynax 9 is an autofocus 35mm SLR camera produced by Minolta around 1999. It was also marketed as the Maxxum 9 in the USA and the Alpha 9 (α-9) in Japan. This model succeeded the 9xi and 800si and features a Minolta A-type bayonet lens mount. The camera is known for its robust construction, including rubberized and weatherproof controls. A rare variant, the Dynax 9Ti, was later released with a titanium body. The Dynax 9 shares similar controls with the 600si. It is equipped with a focal plane shutter offering speeds from 30 seconds to 1/12000 second, with flash synchronization at 1/300 second, and includes a built-in flash. The Minolta α-9 received the Japan Camera Grand Prix award in 1999.
