YASHICA FX-3 SUPER 2000

The Yashica FX-3 Super 2000 is a 35mm manual-focus single-lens reflex (SLR) film camera released in 1986 and produced until 2002. Manufactured by Cosina, it features a vertical metal-bladed focal plane shutter with speeds ranging from 1 second to 1/2000 second, and has a built-in, battery-powered light meter with a three-LED viewfinder display. The camera body weighs approximately 450 grams (one pound) and is compatible with all manual-focus Yashica/Contax bayonet-mount lenses, including the renowned Carl Zeiss T* lenses. The FX-3 Super 2000 improved upon earlier FX-3 models by including a handgrip, a flash-ready indicator in the viewfinder, a relocated meter switch integrated with the shutter release, a wider ISO range from 25-3200, and a faster maximum shutter speed. Metering operation requires two LR44 (or equivalent 1.5V) batteries, but otherwise, the camera is fully mechanical and can operate without batteries if the meter is not needed. Due to its extended production run, the camera is widely available and remains a popular option for both collectors and those learning manual film photography.
