The Yashica-D is a twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera that is part of Yashica's knob-wind series of 6x6cm cameras. This model is considered to have more advanced shutters and controls compared to many other knob-wind Yashica TLRs, which often feature more basic shutters and lenses. The Yashica-D, along with the Yashica 635, holds a more intermediate place in the lineup, offering features comparable to some Rolleicord models. All knob-wind Yashica TLRs, including the D, feature front-standard focusing operated by a wheel on the side of the body.
