The Olympus Pen FV is a half-frame single lens reflex camera launched in 1967. It is a variant of the Pen FT, produced without a built-in light meter, but retaining the single-stroke film advance lever and self-timer introduced with the FT model. The Pen FV features a bayonet mount for interchangeable lenses and a focal plane shutter that uses a rotating metal disc, offering synchronization at all speeds up to 1/500 second. Its design includes an unusual viewfinder that avoids the traditional SLR prism bulge by employing a sideways-flipping reflex mirror, contributing to its compact size. Approximately 45,000 units of the Pen FV were manufactured, making it the least common of the three Pen F series models.
