The Fuji GW690III is a fixed-lens, medium format rangefinder camera introduced by Fuji in 1992 as the last model in their line of 6x9cm cameras. It is known for producing large 6x9cm negatives, offering some of the highest image resolution available in medium format cameras that use 120 film (yielding 8 exposures per roll). The camera features a manual, battery-free operation with a hotshoe for flash and a PC sync socket, but does not include a built-in meter. Its lens is an EBC Fujinon 90mm f/3.5 with five elements in five groups and a focal length equivalent to approximately a 40-45mm lens in 35mm terms. Weighing 1510g, the GW690III is often referred to as the 'Texas Leica' due to its large size relative to Leica rangefinders. Notable design details include aperture and shutter speed adjustment rings located on the lens, a T mode for long exposures (distinct from typical Bulb mode operation), and a loud mechanical exposure counter.
