The Praktica MTL 5 B is a 35mm SLR camera manufactured by Pentacon in Dresden, East Germany, between 1985 and 1989. It is an upgrade from the Praktica MTL 5, featuring TTL exposure metering activated by a stop-down button next to the front-mounted shutter release. A match-needle display in the viewfinder indicates exposure. The camera uses a metal-curtained focal plane shutter with speeds from 1s to 1/1000s, plus B, and includes a self-timer. It has a flash synchronization speed of 1/125 second. The MTL 5 B uses interchangeable lenses with the M42 screw mount, commonly found with the Pentacon auto 1.8/50mm multi-coated lens. The viewfinder has a split-prism/microprism focusing aid with a diagonal split. Approximately 567,000 units were produced, and it was also sold as the Revue ML by Foto-Quelle.
