The Leica M-A (Typ 127) is a purely mechanical 35mm rangefinder camera released by Leica Camera AG in 2014. It has no exposure meter, no electronic control, and requires no battery to operate. The camera is Leica's first purely mechanical camera since the Leica M4-P in 1981. Its specifications are similar to the Leica M4-P, with exterior features resembling the Leica M2. The M-A is noticeably slimmer than its digital counterparts and is enclosed in all-metal using chromed brass top and bottom covers. It comes in black or silver chrome finish. The camera allows full manual control and is compatible with M-mount lenses from 16 to 135mm. A lever allows changing framing lines for different lens pairs: 28/90mm, 35/135mm, and 50/75mm.
