CHAMONIX 810 ALPINIST X

The Chamonix 810 Alpinist X is an ultralight, full-featured 8x10 field view camera designed for landscape and travel photographers. Built from anodized aluminum and wood, it offers rigidity, precision, and portability, weighing approximately 2,890 grams without the ground glass cover. The camera features extensive front and rear movements, including 87mm front rise, 75mm front fall, 50mm front shift (each side), 30° front tilt, and 30° rear tilt with 10° rear swing. Bellows extension ranges from a minimum of 60mm to a maximum of 850mm with an extension board, supporting a wide range of focal lengths. It folds down to a compact 355mm x 310mm x 97mm size and uses standard Sinar-type lens boards. As of late 2024, Chamonix also offers a compatible Fresnel lens and carbon fiber ground glass protector for improved focusing visibility in the field.
