Fujifilm Reala 100 was a medium format (120) color negative film that expired in April 2005, distinct from the 35mm Superia Reala 100 variant. The film delivered excellent color reproduction with fine grain and good sharpness, maintaining quality even when shot 17 years past its expiration date at a reduced speed of EI 50. Known for producing true-to-life, earthy colors rather than the typical 'candylike' saturation of other Fujifilm emulsions, Reala 100 was particularly favored as a portrait film. The discontinuation of this emulsion represents one of many quality films lost during the early digital transition that are unlikely to return to production.
