The Widelux F7 is a swing-lens panorama camera manufactured by Panon Camera Shoko in Tokyo between 1979 and 1988. It is part of the Widelux F-series, which uses 35mm film and provides a horizontal coverage of approximately 126° and a vertical coverage of 55°, resulting in a 24 x 59mm image size. The camera operates on a principle where a lens swivels through a horizontal arc, projecting an image onto a cylindrical film gate. This design is similar to other panoramic cameras like the Noblex and Horizont. The Widelux F7 is known for producing characteristic banding in images due to uneven movement of the lens turret, often caused by dust and grime in the gears. Approximately 20,000 total 35mm Widelux cameras were produced across all F-series models.
