SEAGULL 4A

  • 7 photos

The Seagull 4A is a 6x6 TLR camera for 120 roll film, manufactured in Shanghai, China, by the Shanghai Camera Factory. Introduced in the late 1960s as a complement to the 1964 Seagull 4, it is known to have been in production for at least 40 years. This camera features a right-hand wind-on crank with an automatic frame counter and is considered a Rolleiflex copy, though it has 34mm filter threads. It includes a fixed finder hood with a built-in action finder and a critical focusing magnifier. The taking optic is a HAIOU-31 SA 1:3.5/75 coated lens, while the finder optic is a nameless 1:2.8/75 lens. A depth-of-field scale is integrated into the focusing knob. The five-bladed, fully synchronized leaf shutter offers speeds from B to 1/300 second. The camera also includes a PC sync contact, a threaded release button, and a self-timer lever.
