The Nikon F-801, known as the Nikon N8008 in the USA, is a 35mm film SLR autofocus electronic camera manufactured by Nikon Corporation in Japan between 1988 and 1991. It features both autofocus and manual focus modes with an electronic rangefinder, utilizing a TTL phase detection system (Nikon Advanced AM200 module). The camera is equipped with an electromagnetically controlled vertical-travel focal-plane metal shutter, offering speeds from 30 to 1/8000 seconds plus Bulb. It supports multiple exposure modes including programmed auto-multi, shutter priority auto, aperture priority auto, and manual. The F-801 incorporates matrix metering and center-weighted metering, with a film speed range of 6-6400 ASA. Its body includes a fixed eyelevel SLR pentaprism viewfinder and an LCD panel displaying various settings. An updated version, the F-801S (N8008S), was released in 1991 with improved focusing and spot metering.
