MAMIYA 645 AFD

The Mamiya 645 AFD is a medium format SLR camera that was released in December 2001 by Mamiya, following the 645 AF. It is an auto-focus camera and was designed to be compatible with certain digital backs, though these were not produced by Mamiya at the time. This model, along with its successors the 645 AFDII and 645 AFDIII, retains the ability to use either film or a digital back, allowing for quick switching between the two, even mid-roll. The camera features a new bayonet lens mount with electrical contacts to support AF lenses. Unlike the previous M645 Super/Pro series which had polycarbonate bodies, the 645 AF series, including the AFD, features aluminum bodies. Many features from Mamiya's earlier 4.5x6cm SLR cameras are retained, but the 645 AFD is not as modular, with a built-in power film winder and AE prism viewfinder.
