The Canon WP-1, also known as the Sure Shot A-1 or Prima AS-1, is a compact camera that was released in April 1994. It was marketed as the world's smallest and lightest underwater camera that could also be used on land. This fully automatic camera features a 32mm f/3.5 lens and a programmed shutter with speeds ranging from 1/250s to 1/60s. It incorporates 3-point smart autofocus for distances from 1-3m and a fixed focus macro mode for underwater shots as close as 45cm, which uses a forced flash. The camera is completely weather-sealed and robust, designed to be waterproof to five meters using rubber seals and O-rings. It has a large and bright viewfinder suitable for use with swimming goggles, an automatic flash that can be disabled, and automatic film winding. The WP-1 is powered by one 3V CR123A battery.
