The Canon T70 is a 35mm SLR film camera that was released by Canon in April 1984. It was the second camera in Canon's T-series and was often sold with either an FD 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 lens or an FD 28-55mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. The T70 features a vertical-traveling, electronic focal plane shutter with speeds ranging from 2 seconds to 1/1000th of a second. It includes a built-in auto winder and a large LCD panel with key-touch buttons, which influenced subsequent 35mm SLR camera designs. The camera offers shutter-priority TTL auto exposure, TTL multi-program AE, and preset aperture AE, along with a dual metering system providing center-weighted averaging and partial metering. It is powered by two AA batteries and supports film speeds from 12 to 1600 ISO. The T70 received the Good Design Award and the European Camera of the Year Award in 1984.
