The Canon EOS 500N is a 35mm SLR camera produced by Canon from 1996 to 1999. It is also known as the EOS Rebel G in the Americas and the New EOS Kiss or EOS Kiss 2 in Japan. This model replaced the EOS 500 and features a focal plane shutter with a range of 30 seconds to 1/2000th of a second, plus Bulb mode. It uses a Canon EF mount for lenses and has an optical pentaprism viewfinder. The camera is powered by two CR123A batteries and supports an ISO range of 6-6400 (25-5000 DX). Improvements over its predecessor include ETTL flash compatibility, an AF assist light, and Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) from -2 to +2 in 1/2 stop increments. It also features an easier-to-access night scene mode on the command dial and is compatible with the BP-8 vertical grip.
